DUFAY: Chansons
About the Composer:
Guillaume Dufay (1397-1474) was a prominent Renaissance composer who left plenty of extant works.
About the Music:
A Chanson is a French song, but in this context a particular style of 3-voice music. Dufay helped define the Burgundian Chanson (being from Burgundy). Much of it reminds me of its Medieval roots. Very good listening!

Early Venetian Lute Music
Lute music from several early 1500s composers who settled in Venice for the bulk of their creative career.

AGRICOLA: Fortuna desperata
About the Composer:
Alexander Agricola was born around 1445 and died in 1506. Possibly German, he was an influential Renaissance composer who worked in Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Spain (he travelled quite a bit).
